North Point redevelopment officials discuss traffic, taxes

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Developers behind a massive arena-centered project to transform the aging North Point Mall site discussed traffic, building heights and taxes during a second town hall meeting July 8.

For months, city officials have reviewed plans to overhaul property that was once home to one of Georgia’s most premier shopping malls. In late 2025, the City Council approved a tax allocation district that would fund improvements for land that has seen considerable property value decline in recent years.

In February, mall owner New York Life announced it had tapped developer Jamestown to create a plan to redevelop the mall into a sports and entertainment district.
