This week, more than 100 staff members at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital banded together to successfully transfer their most vulnerable patients to the hospital’s new neonatal intensive care unit, located inside the facility’s new tower.
Wellstar physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and caregivers successfully transferred 44 babies from the hospital’s former NICU to its new 300,000-square-foot Yellow Tower, where a new state-of-the-art NICU is located.
During the operation, staff worked to ensure each baby remained connected to lifesaving equipment throughout the move to ensure their health was not compromised…
