Former employee, store manager accused of stealing 438 tires from Marietta Mavis

Darren Leon Manson, 60, and Paul Mathew Helton, both of Cartersville, are accused of taking approximately 438 tires, valued at $89,579, from Mavis Tires 7 Brakes, 2713 Chastain Meadows Parkway NW, Marietta, between June 5 and July 11, according to arrest warrants from the Cobb County Police Department.

Manson is a former employee of the business and Helton is the store manager. Helton admitted to conspiring with Manson to steal the tires, instructed him how to gain access through a rear door after business hours and accepted approximately $500 in exchange for his assistance, according to warrants.

Surveillance footage captured Manson entering the business and loading up tires into a white pickup truck on multiple occasions. The white pickup truck observed on surveillance was further corroborated by Flock camera images.
