MARIETTA — The owners of Asher & Rose on Marietta Square, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, said rising costs drove the store to have to file, but assured customers that they plan to remain open and get the business stable.
The store was previously Piastra Italian Restaurant before closing in December 2025 to convert to a grocery store and cafe. Asher & Rose opened in February 2026.
Greg Lipman — who owns the store with his mother, Betty Bahl — said converting the business from a restaurant to a grocer and cafe cost more than they anticipated.
