Danner family is working to pick up the pieces after the landfill fire

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The smoke has cleared from the Landfill fire that began in Amarillo on May 17, but has left plenty of residents behind to pick up the pieces.

The Danner family moved to Bishop Estates with their five children in 2020 to provide a home where they could create memories.

“It was 100% raw, no nothing, no well, no electricity, just a nice little piece of land with a great view out to the floating mesa. A friend of ours who’s a realtor found it for us and helped us, you know, scoop it up because it was pretty desirable,” explained Frank Danner. “Then since then, we’ve been living out there, building out there, raising animals out there, raising our kids out there.”…
