AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Author Amy Griffin filed a counter-lawsuit in US District Court for the District of Nevada following claims and an initial lawsuit from an individual who said that Griffin stole stories from her and retold them in Griffin’s book, “The Tell.”
As was previously reported on Myhighplains.com, an initial lawsuit filed in Los Angeles in March claimed that “Jane Doe” and Griffin first met back in or around 1988 and 1989 in Amarillo at Austin Middle School.
Doe claimed in the lawsuit that she was sexually assaulted in a closet by one of the school’s teachers. According to the lawsuit, Doe alleges that the details of both sexual assaults would be later converted by Griffin and used in her memoir.
