AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Dozens of states are restricting pet imports from Texas because of concerns over the New World screwworm, a parasite that has affected the cattle industry and is now threatening pet adoptions and transports out of state.
The screwworm parasite can infect any warm-blooded animal, including pets such as dogs and cats.
