AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The city of Amarillo reports that street maintenance downtown will cause traffic changes on Buchanan Street and Taylor Street until next week.
Downtown street maintenance is still underway, and drivers should plan for traffic changes on the following days:
Saturday, Aug. 22 — South Buchanan Street
- South Buchanan St. from South 11th Avenue to 2nd Avenue will receive the first course of the Cape Seal (Scrub Seal). Lane closures will be in place, but no full detour is planned.
Saturday, Aug. 22 – Monday, Aug. 24 — South Taylor Street
- South Taylor Street from South 11th Ave. to North 3rd Avenue will be detoured while mill and overlay work is performed. South 3rd Avenue, South 6th Avenue, and South 10th Avenue will remain open to east-west traffic unless crews are working directly in an intersection.
Monday, Aug. 24 — South Pierce St.
- South Pierce Street from South 11th to North 3rd Avenue will receive the first course of the Cape Seal (Scrub Seal). Lane closures will be in place, but no full detour is planned.
