AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — About a year ago, Brenlie Garrett had a bump appear on her head and had to get a CAT scan. Brenlie, who is 9-years-old, was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis.
During the past year, Brenlie had a craniotomy, where the lump was removed, and a metal plate was put on the top of her head. Brenlie received chemotherapy, but has recently finished her treatments. Her year-long journey was completed two weeks ago. Brenlie has two more scans to complete, and as long as they are steady like they have been, she will finally be able to ring the bell and be declared cancer-free.
