AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 and the left lane of eastbound I-40 at BI-40 to be closed for bridgework. Westbound traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
- Drivers can expect slow-moving traffic on southbound I-27 beginning at Sundown Lane to the US 60/87 direct connect due to the moving concrete barrier. The work is expected to last from 9 a.m. to noon.
Tuesday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 and the left lane of eastbound I-40 at BI-40 to be closed for bridgework. Westbound traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
- Drivers can expect slow-moving traffic on southbound I-27 beginning at Sundown Lane to the US 60/87 direct connect due to the moving concrete barrier. The work is expected to last from 9 a.m. to noon.
Wednesday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 at BI-40 to be closed for bridge work.

Friday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 at BI-40 to be closed for bridgework. Traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
