Dry, warmer weather reaching 100s expected after rainy Mother’s Day

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Dry weather returns Monday with a fast warm-up, followed by much hotter conditions through the work week, with some places possibly reaching the 100s from Tuesday through Friday.

Tonight will turn quieter and partly cloudy. Temperatures will fall into the 40s, and the wind will slow down overnight. By Monday, sunshine returns, and Amarillo warms back into the 80s with a lighter south wind.

The big story for the week is the heat. Tuesday through Friday will be much hotter, with afternoon highs mostly in the 90s, and some areas may get close to or into the 100s. Overnight lows will generally be in the 50s and 60s…
