AMARILLO, Texas (KCBD) – Toot’n Totum Food Stores announced the launch of its “Change for the Better” campaign, a guest-driven fundraising effort to help families across the Texas Panhandle who have lost homes and livelihoods to the recent wildfires. From Friday, May 22 through Saturday, June 7, guests at all Toot’n Totum locations and Mitch’s BBQ restaurants will be invited to round up their purchase to the next full dollar at checkout — both inside the store and at the pump. 100% of the difference between the purchase amount and the rounded-up amount will be donated to the Amarillo Area Foundation’s Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund and directed to neighbors affected by the fires.
When fires swept across the area in recent weeks, Toot’n Totum jumped in to support first responders — providing fuel for fire trucks, water for firefighters working the lines, and hot meals from our Wendy’s and Mitch’s BBQ kitchens to crews returning from long shifts. “Change for the Better” carries that work forward and invites the community to be part of it.
The Amarillo Area Foundation established the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund in 2006, originally in response to area wildfires, and has used it ever since to deliver aid to families and first responders affected by disasters across the region.
