Revered California restaurant devastated by destructive morning fire; Salvage operation underway

In a prompt response to an emergency call, firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority raced to the scene of a fire at Walt’s Wharf restaurant in the 200 block of Main St at 10:41 this morning.

The incident unfolded as Engine 44 arrived to find smoke emanating from the establishment, prompting an immediate upgrade to a working fire status, firefighters said.

Upon arrival, the seasoned firefighters initiated a thorough search for occupants while simultaneously launching an aggressive attack on the flames. Their swift action successfully isolated the fire, preventing its extension and safeguarding the immediate surroundings. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident, according to the OCFA.

Currently, firefighting crews are actively engaged in salvage operations, working diligently to limit the overall damage to the cherished Walt’s Wharf establishment.
