Groundbreaking held for large mixed-use development project that will replace Westminster Mall

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday that formally ushered in the start of a large mixed-use development project on the site of the once-beloved but now shuttered Westminster Mall.

The site, called Bolsa Pacific, will have around 2,250 housing units, ones that project officials say will be priced at market-rate and affordable rental housing. There will also be standalone homes for sale.

In addition to the residential units, officials say the Bolsa Pacific project will also include 120 hotel keys and over 220,000 square feet of retail space. On top of that, there will be more than 15 acres of green space throughout the property – including private resident spaces, open-air promenades and network of walking trails…
