A major California surf competition was temporarily halted after an “aggressive” 10-foot shark was spotted off the coast.
The event was unfolding in Huntington Beach, southeast of Los Angeles, a major surf spot. Officials have now closed off the ocean near the pier for a mile on either side. The 8th annual Vans Jack’s Surfboards Pro competition has been temporarily postponed.
