Two people, a former California Highway Patrol officer and an alleged drunk driver, pleaded not guilty in a Norwalk courtroom Monday morning to second-degree murder charges in connection with a freeway crash that killed four people last year.
Prosecutors said 24-year-old ex-CHP Officer Angelo Rodriguez was speeding at 130 mph in the HOV lane on July 19, 2025, without lights or sirens, when his cruiser collided with another car on the 605 Freeway in Norwalk, just north of the 105 interchange.
Rodriguez was reportedly uninjured in the crash.
