A woman mauled by a dog while volunteering at an Orange County animal shelter has been awarded $450,000 in a negligence lawsuit stemming from an attack less than three years ago.
The Aug. 21, 2023, incident occurred while Emily Moncur was taking photos of dogs available for adoption at the county’s Tustin Animal Care Facility, according to the Orange County Register.
Moncur had already photographed 14 other dogs before moving on to a Labrador-beagle mix named Blaze. As she attempted to return the dog to its kennel, Blaze attacked her, the lawsuit said…
