Former Alaska corrections officer gets 150 years for killing wife, daughter

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A former correctional officer was sentenced Tuesday to 150 years in prison for killing his wife and 14-year-old daughter after the girl reported she had been sexually abused, according to the Alaska Department of Law.

Anchorage Superior Court Judge Garton sentenced Jalonni Blackshear after he pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in the deaths of his wife, Raechyl Blackshear, and his daughter, Jayla Blackshear, who prosecutors identified in the latest release by her initials, J.B.

Blackshear was indicted in May 2022 on charges of first- and second-degree murder, as well as first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, first-degree sexual assault, incest, evidence tampering and forgery, according to previous reporting. The remaining charges were dismissed under the plea agreement…
