A rare white reindeer calf has been born at Williams Reindeer Farm in Palmer. White reindeer are uncommon in Alaska, and staff initially mistook the newborn for snow. The calf was named “Lumi,” the Finnish word for snow.
Juneau’s Dimond Park Aquatic Center will temporarily close for maintenance from April 27 through May 5. Planned upgrades include new lighting, tumble buckets, and a future scoreboard installation.
