University of Michigan nurses sign new deal, approve wage increases

ANN ARBOR, MI – University of Michigan nurses approved a new three-year labor contract that features wage increases, improved staffing rations and stronger workplace safety protections.

The MNA-University of Michigan Professional Nurse Council – the group representing the Michigan Nurses Association – approved the agreement with a 94% “yes” vote on Friday, July 24. The contract ratification vote took place from July 20 to the 24.

The new agreement will take effect immediately and run through March 31, 2029…
