Attorney General Dana Nessel is suing the owner/operator of nursing home facilities in four counties for allegedly violating the Medicaid False Claim Act by accepting more than $11 million in Medicaid reimbursement while failing to maintain adequate related staffing levels.
The civil cause of action names Fahim Uddin, Pioneer Health Care Management doing business as Legacy Healthcare Management, and nine nursing home facilities located in Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and Gratiot counties. As stated in a news release, Nessel claims an “intentional failure of care placed hundreds of nursing home patients at risk of harm while Uddin operated related companies to enrich himself.”
