6-year-old killed in minibike crash east of Ann Arbor was a ‘ball of life,’ family says

SUPERIOR TWP., MI – A local family is grieving after a 6-year-old boy was killed in minibike crash earlier this week east of Ann Arbor.

Chavon Neely said her son, Laronte Neely Jr., who they call “Baby Tay,” was outside playing with his siblings ― he’s the fifth of seven ― on Sunday, July 26, when he got on the front of a minibike, and it took off across a large grassy area of a residence complex.

The motorized bike crashed into a parked car in the 8600 block of MacArthur Boulevard as Baby Tay rode with a local 10-year-old unrelated to the Neely family…
