ANN ARBOR, MI — A group backed by DTE Energy is suing the city of Ann Arbor over a November ballot proposal put forward by grassroots organization Ann Arbor for Public Power, which wants the city to wage a takeover of DTE in the city.
Washtenaw County Circuit Court records show the DTE-backed Ann Arbor Responsible Energy Coalition filed a lawsuit against the city and City Clerk Jackie Beaudry on Monday, Aug. 10, six days after the clerk’s office certified the public power proposal has enough signatures to go on the ballot.
