Eligible SNAP recipients can use benefits at these Ann Arbor area restaurants

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Local restaurants and health officials are recruiting more local restaurants to participate in a program for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients.

The Restaurant Meal Program allows eligible residents to use their Michigan Bridge Card to purchase prepared meals at participating eateries. The program is an exception to the typical restriction on using SNAP benefits for hot or ready-to-eat prepared foods.

SNAP recipients qualify for the program if they are 60 or older, disabled, homeless or the spouse of an eligible participant. Eligible participants are automatically enrolled and can check their MIBridges account for a confirmation message…
