Chelsea Enters Into Public Parking Agreement With JIFFY

The city of Chelsea formalized an agreement with Chelsea Milling Company, the creators of “JIFFY” Mix, to renew a previous lease for public parking that expired in 2022. The agreement will last through June 5, 2027, and will be available for yearly renewal.

“The agreement secures continued public access to an established downtown parking area, adds new public parking capacity and accomplishes these objectives for nominal base rent,” wrote then-City Manager Elle Cole in Council’s Aug. 24 agenda. “Although the city assumes maintenance and potential tax obligations, the public parking benefit and expanded partnership with Chelsa Milling provide meaningful value to the community and downtown businesses.”
