LINDALE, Texas — The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death for 8-year-old Adrian Thompson, who experienced a medical emergency at Velma Penny Elementary School in Lindale in April.
On April 16 around 1 a.m., Adrian Sue Thompson died at a pediatric ICU. Her death has been ruled as accidental in nature and caused by choking, a new report from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office reads.
Thompson suffered a medical emergency at her school on April 15. Lindale ISD reported back in April that she experienced a choking incident that led to lifesaving efforts by the school nurse. The statement said these efforts included the Heimlich maneuver, a LifeVac device, and then CPR.
