Wichita workers included in Bell Textron layoffs

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Bell Textron laid off hundreds of employees across three facilities, the company confirmed Thursday.

A Textron spokesperson said about 285 employees are included in the cuts, which impact facilities in Amarillo, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas; and Wichita. There will also be a three-week furlough for certain employees starting June 15.

“Staffing decisions like this are difficult, but they are also necessary to align the company to market realities and position it for the long term,” spokesperson Lindsey Hughes said.
