TxDOT updates completion date for Southeast Connector project

Construction of the $2.2 billion Southeast Connector project is on track to wrap up in early 2028, according to an update from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The project — which will widen and reroute roughly 16 miles of highway to expand Interstate 20, Southeast Loop 820 and U.S. 287 at the juncture of Fort Worth, Forest Hill, Everman and Arlington — is on track for “substantial completion” in February 2028. Work began in 2022 with an expected five-year turnaround.
