Fort Worth’s Alice Walton remains the richest woman in America on the 2026 Forbes 400, as the nation’s 400 wealthiest people reached a combined $8 trillion.
Forbes released its 45th annual ranking Tuesday. Walton, 76, is valued at $118 billion, up $12 billion from last year as Walmart shares rose more than 10%, Forbes said. CultureMap reports she is also listed as the world’s richest woman, Texas’ third-wealthiest person, and Fort Worth’s richest resident. Forbes still lists her home as Fort Worth. She is Sam Walton’s only daughter and is known for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and a medical school in Bentonville, Arkansas.
The cutoff to make the list rose to a record $4.4 billion. The group’s total wealth is up $1.4 trillion from $6.6 trillion a year earlier.
