Wing Pours Up to $125M Into Fort Worth Factory, Plans 100 New Jobs

Wing is putting up to $125 million into a new Fort Worth manufacturing facility over the next two years, aiming to build the next generation of its delivery drones in North Texas while creating as many as 100 new manufacturing jobs. The 15,000-square-foot plant is designed to give the company the capacity to churn out tens of thousands of aircraft annually, according to the company.

The investment figure comes with a small wrinkle in how it has been reported. According to Fort Worth Report, Wing plans to invest $125 million over the next two years to manufacture aircraft at the new facility, while Robotics 24/7 describes the commitment as up to $125 million over that same span. Either way, the scale of the bet on Fort Worth is substantial for a company that only began flying local deliveries there in June 2024, per Fort Worth Report.

A Factory Built for Tens of Thousands of Aircraft

The new facility is meant to anchor Wing’s broader U.S. manufacturing push, and the company says it will use the Fort Worth operation to support expansion across the country. Robotics 24/7 reports the site is expected to have capacity to build tens of thousands of aircraft each year, a figure that underscores how central Texas has become to the company’s growth plans.

Wing CEO Adam Woodworth tied the investment directly to the company’s domestic ambitions. “The U.S. is our focus for growth, and by investing in the future of drone delivery here, we are continuing to advance American aviation innovation as we build our commercial momentum,” Woodworth said, according to the same Fort Worth Report account of the announcement.

Walmart Deliveries Already Underway in North Texas

Wing is already a familiar presence in the skies around Fort Worth. The company began its local delivery service there in June 2024, the Fort Worth Report’s reporting notes, and now operates drones at nearly 70 Walmart locations nationwide, having completed more than 1 million home deliveries so far this year…
