A new honky-tonk just staked its claim in Fort Worth. Rustic Cowboy Bar & Dance Hall quietly opened its doors on September 12 at 5970 Park Vista Circle, Suite 100, bringing mechanical bulls, a pool table and a 1,300-square-foot dance floor to a space that used to be a sports bar known for billiards, not boot-scooting.
The venue’s soft opening came ahead of an official grand opening planned for Friday, September 18, according to social media cited by Community Impact. Rustic Cowboy occupies the former home of Legends Sports Bar and Billiards, and the new ownership has reworked the interior to include two bars, a private room and space for line dancers to spread out.
Who’s Behind the New Dance Hall
The bar is owned by Ned Brown, who also runs Shotzee’s Bar & Grill in Keller, per the same Community Impact report. Brown gave followers a look at the renovation work on Facebook before the doors opened, offering an early glimpse of the dance floor and bull-riding setup that now anchor the space.
Rustic Cowboy is leaning into a packed weekly schedule to draw regulars back for more than one night out. Dance lessons run Wednesday through Saturday, starting with Fort Worth shuffle instruction on Wednesdays, moving into line dancing on Thursdays and Saturdays, and rounding out with two-step lessons on Fridays. Live music takes over on Fridays and Saturdays, giving newly trained dancers a stage to test out their moves.
Fitting Into a Crowded Dance Floor Scene
The formula isn’t new to North Texas, where several venues pair instruction with live country music to build a following.
