Fort Worth Medical Examiner Names Woman, 36, Killed by Train Near Middle School

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office has identified the woman killed after being struck by a freight train in south Fort Worth as 36-year-old Annason Phothisarath. She died at about 7 a.m. on Sept. 14 near the 500 block of West Bolt Street, just outside the campus of Trinity Basin Preparatory, a charter school serving roughly 500 students in fifth through eighth grade.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, witnesses told police that Phothisarath appeared to be trying to jump between train cars when she was struck. A 911 caller reported that a woman had been hit by a train, and Fort Worth police recorded the incident, the newspaper reported.

The medical examiner’s office had not yet determined the cause or manner of death as of the newspaper’s report. That determination remains pending, and no additional details about the incident have been released.
