The city of Fort Worth approved a fee to pay for annual street repair and reduce the need for costly future reconstruction, as rising costs and a growing street network have led to deteriorating conditions.
Fort Worth City Council members unanimously approved the pavement management fee Tuesday night. It goes into effect in 2028 for all users and will generate approximately $27.4 million annually that will go into a pavement management fund, the city said.
