A man shot on Stemmons Freeway in Dallas last week has now died, making this a murder case.
Friday morning, Elian Murrugarra was a passenger in a car involved in a crash on Stemmons near Woodall Rodgers. As the driver was pulling over to exchange information someone in the other car opened fire, striking Murrugarra. He was rushed to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he fought for his life through the weekend. But yesterday, he died.
While the Dallas County Medical Examiner has not called this a homicide Dallas police have now assigned the case to the PD’s Homicide Unit.
Police say they have no information describing either the shooter or the other car involved in the crash.
