AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – A man previously accused of allegedly mailing threatening letters to federal judges in Texas and New York, as well as sending a fake stand-in for a biological toxin to multiple courthouses, was found guilty on Wednesday.
Donald Ray McCray was found guilty on three counts of “mailing a threatening communication” and one count of “false information and hoaxes” by a jury in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, according to court documents.

McCray was previously indicted on June 17, 2025, on two counts of “mailing a threatening communication” and two counts of “false information and hoax,” after he allegedly sent multiple letters in March 2025.
As noted in previous reports, McCray allegedly mailed a threatening message on March 7, 2025, to a federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, and another to a federal judge in Fort Worth. That same day, McCray allegedly also mailed envelopes “containing a white powder” to federal courthouses in Amarillo and Fort Worth, “with the intent to convey false and misleading information that the envelope contained a biological agent.”…
