When you see as many luxury homes as I do, you tend to get a bit jaded. We have a lot of beautiful real estate on the market, but much of it looks alike. It takes something different to pique my interest. So, when luxury stager George Bass shot me a text last week saying, “You need to see this one,” I knew he had staged something special. He was right, as usual. This University Park Hill Country modern farmhouse is going to set some new standards for the luxury market.
I think it comes down to builder Brian Shaw, the owner of Shaw Building Group.
“I build homes I want to move into,” he said. “Before I start the next house, I spend about a year gathering ideas that catch my eye on social media. I particularly notice restaurants because they are usually on the front end of design. I imagine how that will fit into a residential use. However, I don’t want things that are so popular you can look back in a few years and know that was a trend from a particular year.”
Although Shaw has been known to sketch out builds by himself, for this University Park Hill Country modern farmhouse, he turned to architect Clay Nelson, president of C.A.
