MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Car thefts are on the rise in Montgomery County, Maryland, up 20% this year. According to police, there have been more than 1,500 occurrences to date.
One Silver Spring woman who didn’t want to be identified told 7News about how her car was stolen in April. Her husband woke her up and asked if she parked the car on the street. When they realized it wasn’t outside they knew what went wrong. After looking at her camera, she determined someone stole the car between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. while she and her husband were home.
