Some teachers at Lake Braddock Secondary School said part of their workday now includes a job they never expected: staffing the school’s weapons scanners.
Teachers stationed at the scanners help direct students through the system and move items, such as laptops, binders and water bottles, around the machines because they can trigger alerts. If a scanner goes off, the student is directed to a secondary screening area.
