ROCKVILLE, Md. — Crews continue to clean up the mess after a fiery crash on I-270 South in Rockville. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue authorities say a tractor trailer collided with four vehicles in the area of the Montrose Road exit around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The cab of the tractor trailer was seen fully engulfed in flames and hazardous material teams were called to tackle a fuel spill coming from the tractor trailer. Authorities say four people were transported to the hospital. The severity of their injuries is not known at this time.
All southbound lanes of I-270 were closed for the crash investigation, but most lanes have reopened to traffic as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
