Maryland Real Property Search Tool Back Online After Data Breach

Maryland’s Real Property Search Tool is back online after state technology officials completed a security review and cleared the website for public use.

The Maryland Department of Information Technology’s Office of Security Management and the State Department of Assessments and Taxation took the Real Property Search website offline after suspicious activity was detected April 14, 2026, on servers running the application.

State officials said the site was taken offline quickly to contain any potential threats and allow for an investigation.

No Broader Compromise Found

Analysis by SDAT and DoIT found that the affected systems contained only public information already available through the Real Property Search website…
