Montgomery County Police say a Burtonsville man is awaiting extradition to Maryland after being charged in the killing of his mother.
According to police, officers responded Saturday at approximately 5:56 pm to an apartment in the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane for a welfare check after 50-year-old Glenda Patricia Salamanca Reyes failed to report to work. Officers entered the apartment and located Salamanca Reyes deceased in a hallway with apparent trauma to her body.
Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division Homicide Unit determined that Salamanca Reyes lived with her son, 28-year-old Ricardo Adelso Colato Salamanca.
