Henderson County Commissioners Adopt $244.8 Million Budget for 2026-27 Fiscal Year

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners has officially adopted a $244.8 million budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

The spending plan, which was approved unanimously following a five-hour public hearing and commission meeting, focuses heavily on public safety, educational funding, and addressing long-term capital needs. The new budget is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026.

To balance the budget, commissioners approved a property tax rate increase of 4.3 cents. This brings the county’s property tax rate from 43.1 cents to 47.4 cents per $100 of assessed property valuation.
