Newly released 911 transcripts reveal the scene of the deadly shooting that left two people dead and seven others injured in downtown Asheville on Sunday, July 19.
The shooting occurred around 2:20 a.m. on Biltmore Avenue outside Dalton’s Distillery and the neighboring Smile Starters parking lot. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and multiple people struck by gunfire. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and seven others were hospitalized.
