MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said over 60 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription drugs were collected in its drop box.
“By safely disposing of these medications, you are helping keep them off our streets, out of the wrong hands and away from those who may misuse them. You are also helping protect our children, families and community,” said Special Ops Captain Chris Taylor.
Deputies said the drop box is located in the lobby of the sheriff’s office, at 593 Spaulding Rd. in Marion. The public is always able to dispose of unused and unwanted medications in the box.
“Thank you, McDowell County, for doing your part to help keep our community safe,” said Chief Deputy Paul Alkire. “It takes all of us working together to make a difference.”…
