MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) — Two men were arrested in Madison County over the weekend and charged in connection with an ongoing investigation into the sale of psilocybin, or “magic mushroom” products, deputies said.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began after receiving complaints from parents and community members about businesses selling intoxicating products that authorities said can quickly lead to dependence.
“What was once difficult for children to obtain has become increasingly available, creating serious concerns about addiction, impaired judgment, and the unknown long-term effects these substances may have on a developing generation,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement…
