Minor earthquake reported in western NC

(WSPA) – Geologists recorded on Saturday a minor earthquake in a small town in the North Carolina mountains.

According to the US Geological Survey, a 2.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded shortly before 6:30 a.m. Saturday in an area roughly 7 kilometers southwest of Canton, near the East Fork of the Pigeon River.

The quake was detected at a depth of about 6.2 kilometers…
