Davidson River Campground’s reopening date pushed to early September

PISGAH FOREST, N.C. (WLOS) — The Davidson River Campground is still scheduled to reopen this year after undergoing renovations, but for a second time, that reopening date is changing.

The U.S. Forest Service had originally anticipated the campground’s renovations, which began in November 2025, to take six months and be completed in May. The Forest Service first pushed that date back two months for a reopening on July 1, but now that date has changed.
