ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is proposing to close 16 campuses, citing lower enrollment and higher operational costs.
But an analysis found the closures would fall disproportionately on Black and lower-income communities, and advocates said the district is working against the neighborhoods it serves.
The 16 campuses on the district’s closure list include Cleveland Elementary; Continental Colony Elementary; Douglass High School 9th Campus; Dunbar Elementary; F. L.
