MARIETTA — This week, the Cobb Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a nearly $2.56 million property purchase on Commerce Park Drive for the Cobb Police Department to use as a special operations facility.
The approximately 1.83-acre property at 550 Commerce Park Drive is next to Cobb Police’s Fairground Street headquarters. The roughly 15,000-square-foot warehouse and office building on site will become a special operations annex for the police department.
“It would allow us to consolidate many of our Special Operations units, which provide services countywide, in a more central location,” Cobb Police Chief James “Dan” Ferrell said in a statement. “The building would also provide much-needed warehouse space for equipment while offering sufficient office space for personnel and supervisors.”…
