ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Hundreds of residents flooded Atlanta City Councilmember Alex Wan with emails in the hours after a deadly shooting at Piedmont Park, expressing outrage over how the 404 Day festival there was handled and demanding accountability from city officials.
Atlanta News First acquired 689 emails to and from Wan sent in the five days surrounding the April 4 festival through an Open Records Request. The emails reveal widespread anger and fear across the Midtown, Ansley Park, Piedmont Heights, Morningside and Virginia-Highland neighborhoods following the shooting that killed 16-year-old Tianah Robinson and injured a 15-year-old girl. Many of the emails were addressed to Mayor Andre Dickens, in addition to Wan.
